something-really-disgusting asked: Hi! I love this blog and the concept behind it. I just came across it and I have a question: I am asexual and 15 years old. When I try to explain that, I almost always get, "You're just a late bloomer!" or "It's just a phase!" or even "And maybe you won't be one day!" The fact that these people won't acknowledge the fact that I'm asexual bothers me. I can't help it. It does. Is there any way I can convince people that it's not a phase and that not validating the fact of my asexuality hurts?
J.D. - Just tell them to replace “asexual” with something like “gay” or “bisexual” and see how offensive and hurtful it becomes.
