Anonymous asked: I'm actually, physically unable to have sex due to a cocktail of physiological problems. I have an active sex drive but I do everything I can to avoid sex because of these problems and have become pretty psychologically conditioned to dread sex, arousal and even relationships thanks to this, but if I didn't have them I would probably be actively seeking those. What does this make me?
The choice is up to you as to how you feel you should identity. You might not be asexual, since—as you say—you would most likely actively seek sex, etc, if your situation were otherwise.
However, if you feel you want to identify as asexual in order to describe how you are now, I don’t see how that would be a problem. People get very centered on the idea that we are all “born this way” (oh Lady Gaga), but don’t take into account that for some people, sexual orientation can be fluid or altered based on life circumstances. Hope this helps! <3
